Find out more

From looking after your patients’ cardiovascular health to considering the impact of climate change on general practice, here’s a look at our latest content.

CPD on CVD

The latest updates to our Clinical Library include a two part series on the prevention of cardiovascular disease (CVD).

Dr Daniel O’Sullivan highlights those at risk of CVD in Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease, which features information on Lipid Lowering, the use of Atorvastatin and the Month Lipid & ALT Check. The module also includes the 2023 NICE update, ensuring you’re up to date on the latest clinical guidance.

This is followed by Secondary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease, which sees Dr O’Sullivan discuss the Accelerated Access Collaborative and NICE pathway for the identification and treatment of CVD. Also covered are monitoring methods for statin therapy, as well as additional injectable therapies that can be used alongside statins.

Both modules come with a list of further reading opportunities published by healthcare professionals and NHS England, allowing you to broaden your knowledge at your own pace.

Planetary Health series

We also recently added Heatwaves – the final module in Dr Ben Rusholme’s Planetary Health Series.

Heatwaves focuses on heat sensitive medical conditions and the individuals who are most at risk of suffering from heat-related illnesses. It also considers how we can adapt to heatwaves both at home and in general practice, providing crucial guidance that can be passed on to patients.

Our Planetary Health Series also includes modules on Air Pollution and Greener Inhaler Prescribing, as well as Reducing the Impact of General Practice on the Environment and The Impact of Climate Change on Health.

Produced alongside Greener Practice, the UK’s primary care sustainability network, the series aims to help you and your practice respond to the effects of climate change and its impact on patients.

Making appraisals simpler

The Clinical Library integrates seamlessly with the FourteenFish Appraisal Toolkit, making it easy to record every step of your learning development. Whether it’s ensuring your knowledge of CVD prevention is up to date or taking a greener approach to general practice, why not use our latest modules for your next appraisal?
